This care is cultivated from the vineyard to the bottle. Its modern design attracts the eye, but its inner values convince even connoisseurs. The cellar
Even if the Sardinian island appears wild and rustic to many visitors at first glance, Cantina Mesa is one of the most modern wineries in the world. 5000 square meters, three floors. Gravity instead of pumping. Steel tanks instead of overwooding. The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates, even cooled if it is too hot (like this year), then destemmed and lightly crushed on the top level. The must flows naturally into the fermentation tanks on the first floor, where it goes through the various stages of vinification. For the final step, ageing, the wine travels to the lowest, hidden areas of the cellar, a few meters below ground. There you can see a few French oak barrels, cement barrels or stainless steel tanks. There is nothing like preserving the terroir and its freshness.
The name
Mesa. Naturalmente the name is Sardinian and it stands for the word table, even better for tavolata. So. imagine a richly set table, delicious food, around it sit your best friends, family, and also a few people you don't even know. No matter. You eat and enjoy the time together.
