Strong ruby garnet. In the nose fine toasted aromas, delicate nougat and caramel, pleasant dark berry confit. On the palate powerful, complex, very present tannins, including good plum and cherry fruit, in the finish delicate dark chocolate. Shows good length, has very high ripening potential.
Stews, game, pizza, pasta dishes, spicy vegetables and hard cheese.
Must fermentation in new, open 500L barrels for 4 weeks. Malolactic and maturation also in the same barrels for 24 months
Geographically speaking, the Alexs Winery (11ha) is located in northern Burgenland, not far from the shores of Lake Neusiedl in Gols. Alexs relies on spontaneous fermentation for all its wines.

No easy to drink wines without rough edges. Instead, they have a clearly comprehensible profile of origin, varietal and vintage typicity and the signature of a sensitive winemaker. My wines are what comes from my vineyards, what has gone through my mind and then through my hands during the year, the harvest and afterwards.
