Wonderful fine-spicy nose with noble woods and black berries. Filling palate with not yet fully matured but well integrated tannin, warming and persistent in the finish. Nero Magis is a red wine that combines the robustness, personality and spicy notes of Pignolo with the fruity notes of Merlot.
Separate fermentation and maceration of the two grape varieties in oak barrels.
Ageing: 24 months new & one year old barriques.
Driven by the power of the Italian joie de vivre, the Perazza family is for the first time applying its vision of the NERO Magis project to wine, just as it has done in the iconic designs of its furnishings. For the production area, the choice fell on the DOC area Friuli Colli Orientali, the eastern hills of Friuli. Winemaker Walter Filiputti spent many years reviving one of the oldest grape varieties in Friuli, Pignolo. First mentioned in a document dating back to 1398, it is one of the most storable Italian red wines. The 2014 harvest was the first to bottle the Nero Magis. This will be followed by Nero Magis Riserva, which will be a 100% Pignolo.
