Lüthi
His career path is classic: apprenticeship as a winegrower in Ennetbaden, Twann and Jenins, apprenticeship and travelling years in Maienfeld, Praz and in Weinfelden (Hans Ulrich Kesselring, Bachtobel Castle Estate) - a comprehensive but deliberately purely federal tour of experience. 13 years ago, the family (a word Eric often uses, because it is extremely important to him) decided to start their own business as winemakers. "With interest-free loans from family members, I have leased almost one hectare of vineyard in Stäfa." The 45-year-old liked the narrow terraces, which allow virtually no mechanical work. The laborious manual work "in the foliage" has the advantage that each grape variety can be pampered according to its individual needs. The Pinot Noir enjoys the sun, the white varieties love the protective shade. In summer Lüthi has a barbecue and wine bar in Rebhüsli, right in the middle of the vineyard (VINUM, March 2012).
