Between the hills of Telti and Calangianus there are 30 hectares of vineyards where Cannonau and Vermentino are cultivated. In this north-eastern part of Sardinia, the Gregu family has been rooted for generations. In the only DOCG zone in Sardinia, the DOCG Vermentino di Gallura, they own two vineyards. For the Rosato Lemár, the grapes are harvested by hand early in the morning between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. in small boxes of 10 kg each. They are then immediately placed in a refrigerated container to bring the core temperature below 7°C. This prevents spontaneous fermentation of the grapes and their oxidation. In the Cantina the unclean grapes are sorted out on a selection table. A process that is extremely rare in the rosé production.
