The wine has an intense ruby red color with light garnet reflections. Its bouquet is complex, rich, elegant and territorial. It combines fruity nuances of red fruits and small berries with spicy elements, accompanied by fresh notes of medicinal herbs and Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, the wine has balanced tannins and a soft, dense and juicy texture. The concreteness and integration of the flavor is accompanied by a fresh acidity that lingers in fruity and spicy nuances. The overall experience is rounded off by a pleasant fresh minerality.

The grapes are harvested manually and collected in small crates. After the harvest, they are cooled overnight and then checked on a double sorting table. Fermentation begins spontaneously with natural, indigenous yeasts in small, temperature-controlled steel tanks. After gentle maceration on the skins for around 30 days, the wine is transferred to French oak barriques, where malolactic fermentation takes place. In the ageing phase, the wine then spends 24 months in French oak barriques, followed by a further resting phase of 6 months in tanks. It is matured in glass for at least 3 months before release.

CHIOCCIOLI
Stefano Chioccioli, one of the most respected and excellent winemakers in the region, runs the family winery. Under his care a real jewel was created in a very short time. Together with his two sons Niccolò and Enrico, they take care of the vineyard in Gaiole Chianti as well as the vines in the two classico zones Quercegrossa and Gaiole Chianti. The soils are medium clayey, rich in limestone and marl. With 5000 vines per hectare and an average yield of 30 hectolitres per hectare, the yield is rather small and far below the legal requirements.
