Athena Ruja

South of the world-famous vacation resorts of Sardinia, lies the Atha Ruja winery, about 6 km inland from Dorgali. It was founded by the married couple Pietro Pittalis and Annita Salis in the 1990s. You only realize how much meticulousness and passion Pietro puts into the winery when you see it for yourself. The vineyards were mainly planted with the Cannonau variety, as well as small areas of Carignano and Muristellu. Small quantities of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Syrah have also been planted on a trial basis. However, the calling card is the Cannonau grape, the most important grape variety in Sardinia. The oenological advisor is Marco Bernabei, son of the famous Franco Bernabei, who is also responsible for the extremely pure and fresh wine style.
