Scents of white flowers, apricots and peach. The palate is very dense and creamy, but not fat. A fresh acidity supports the finish. Great white wine from the French grape variety Viognier.
Vinification
Half of the must ferments in used barriques and half in cement tanks with batonnage, where it remains until March (6 months) before being bottled without any clarification. After a further 12 months, it is released for sale.
Producer
SATTA MICHELE
This winery was founded in 1984 by Michele Satta. After a few ups and downs, he established himself at the top of the Maremma producers. The Maremma area (near Grosseto), with its calcareous soils and vineyards facing the sea, has a great potential for quality. The area has gained world fame thanks to the Sassicaia. In 1993 Michele Satta started a trial and planted Cabernet and Merlot, soon followed by Syrah vines on about 7 hectares. These varieties are vinified separately and later used to assemblage for his famous Piastraia or the new Bolgheri DOC. Meanwhile the winery covers 25 hectares of vineyards.
