La Tosa

The farm La Tosa was founded in 1980 with the purchase of 16 hectares of land on the part of brothers Stefano and Ferruccio Pizzamiglio. The land is located in the hills above Vigolzone in the Nure Valley. In 1985 the winery was built and the first wines were vinified. The number of grapes on the vines is kept low, which is done, among other things, by thinning out the grapes about two months before the harvest. The vines are also pruned and defoliated several times to aerate the grapes. The goal of the Pizzamiglio brothers is to produce wines "that reflect the grapes in their wholeness, profundity and simplicity".
