Produttori del Barbaresco
The area is tiny, consisting of only three villages (Barbaresco, Neive and Treiso) with a total of 500 hectares of Nebbiolo grapes. It is located in the northwest of Italy, in the middle between the Mediterranean Sea and Turin. It is separated from the Barolo area by the small town of Alba. This winegrowers' cooperative, founded in 1958, now has 60 members who own over 100 hectares of Nebbiolo vineyards in Barbaresco. This winery was created to safeguard the livelihood of the small wine growers and to improve the reputation of the wine and the village of Barbaresco. The pride in the glorious past and the dedication of the men who created it have ensured Produttori a firm place among the great producers of the area. The Produttori del Barbaresco cultivate more than half of the high quality vineyards of the DOCG area: 50 families who work their own vineyards day after day with dedication and skill. The cooperative produces around 550,000 bottles a year and deals exclusively in Nebbiolo grapes.
