Notes
The grape Grignolino is not easy to grow and gives a low wine yield. This is because it has small berries with four or five seeds, so much of the grape weight goes into stems and seeds. With the Garibaldi, Mura Mura cultivates a modern style, whereas the light and drinkable Grignolinos of the last century were fermented exclusively in steel tanks. Here fruit, structure and juicy tannins are in the foreground. Fascinating wine!
Vinification
Whole berry fermentation with maceration for about 12 days, aging: 12 months in barrique and tonneaux, further 6 months bottle aging. Production of 1'650 bottles JG 2020

A wonderful discovery at Vinitaly 2022, Guido Martinetti and Federico Grom, founders of the Gelati multi-company Grom, after selling their ice cream empire to Unilever, bought 30ha of land in Barbaresco, 10ha of which are planted with vines. There they produce today high-quality Barbarescos from single vineyards, which meet the highest standards. Other wines such as Barbera d'Asti or excellent Piemonte DOC complete the range.
