Dark purple; dense, ripe nose; voluminous on the palate, slightly sweet, wonderful finish. Complex wine, reminiscent of an Amarone.
Vinification
The hand-picked grapes are laid out on straw mats to achieve a loss of liquid or a concentration of berries. Vinification is followed by 12 months of ageing in barriques. A rarity, harvested from vines over 80 years old!

The winery, which is owned by the sisters Vittoria and Maria Teresa Vallone and Francesco Vallone, consists of the following three bases Tenuta Flaminio in Brindisi (310 ha), Tenuta Castel Serranova in Carovigno (312 ha) and Tenuta Iore in San Pancrazio Salentino (40 ha). The main part is 170 hectares planted with vines, 120 hectares with olive trees, followed by an area for artichoke and vegetable cultivation. Due to its legendary Graticciaia, one of the best wines of southern Italy, Vallone is known far beyond the Italian border.
