Notes
The color presents itself deep and bright ruby red tone. An elegant harmony combines the scents of berries with a woody, spicy character and vanilla notes typical of this variety. On the palate, the wine unfolds very complex and round, with fine tannins that round out and support the taste experience well.
Vinification
18 months in new barriques Grillette's Pinot Noir so delighted Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin that he even served it in his famous airships. When the winery launched its most exquisite Pinot Noir in 1999, the name immediately caused a sensation. This variety has since become almost synonymous with the winery and is considered one of the icons of Swiss viticulture.
Accompanying
Pair with red meat, game and strong cheeses of all kinds.
Producer
DOMAINE GRILLETTE
As early as 1964, the Grillette - as one of the first wineries in Switzerland - planted the Chardonnay grape. They wanted to lead the way as pioneers. Chardonnay was soon followed by Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. As pioneers of high quality authentic wines and advocates of constant monitoring, the winery developed from the beginning a mentality that is essential for great products. With the 2005 vintage, they continued their search for authenticity by exclusively presenting a single varietal site wine from a Grillette parcel. The main goal of Grillette Domaine De Cressier is to produce top quality wines from world-renowned grape varieties. They want to prove that Swiss wines also deserve a place of honor internationally. Since July 1, 2017, Domaine Grillette and Domaine Grisoni are in partnership and together they offer a diverse selection of wines.
