Producer
CHRISTIAN
For a long time, not only the excellent grapes in the Wilching vineyard have ripened, but also the desire to produce their own wine. Jan and Nathalie Christen made this dream come true in 2017, of all times in the most difficult wine year in 40 years due to the weather. In autumn 2017, for the first time, they did not simply hand over part of their carefully tended grape estate to a winery, but vinified their wine under their own management. Five different traditional grape varieties are cultivated on a vineyard area of 4.8 ha and processed on the estate in the heart of Chläggis. These are Riesling-Silvaner (Müller-Thurgau), Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Regent and Cabernet Dorsa. The vines, some of which have been nurtured and cared for by Christen Weine for generations, are now at the optimum age for the best grape quality.
