José Gil is a young producer from Rioja who is a rising star in the Spanish wine world. After just two vintages, the wine world took notice of the young José Gil and his Uruguayan-born wife Victoria. He was named "Young winemaker of the year 2021" by Tim Atkin (MW) in his Rioja Report, among others, and one of the best young talents in the region by Luis Gutiérrez. A descendant of a winemaking family from San Vicente de la Sonsierra, José farms 8 hectares of vines with his wife Vicky, mainly in San Vicente, but also in the surrounding villages of Labastida and Briones. The vines are between 5 and 130 years old. The care of the vines is carried out entirely by this young couple. They age their wines in a natural cave on a hill of the village of San Vicente. José and Vicky's wines reflect all the couple's dedication, their vision and the characteristics of their vines. The wines are very fresh, fine and extremely elegant.
