The activity of the Varda family began at the beginning of the 16th century in the village of Mezzolombardo, in the Trento area, and over the years it has been linked to the most important events in Trentino's history. In 1678 Leopold the 1st, Emperor of Austria, Bohemia and Hungary, Giovanni Battista de Varda, grappa maker and owner of vineyards and wine cellars, granted the title of nobility. At the beginning of the 18th century, Michele Dolzan began his research and training in the art of distilling in the same cellars. This proud heritage is continued today by Luigi Dolzan.
