In 1678 Leopold the 1st, Emperor of Austria, Bohemia and Hungary, Giovanni Battista de Varda, grappa maker and owner of vineyards and wine cellars, granted the title of nobility. At the beginning of the 18th century, Michele Dolzan began his research and training in the art of distilling in the same cellars. This proud heritage is continued today by Luigi Dolzan.
